Siempre que escucho las canciones de Taylor Swift me pregunto cómo hace para conseguir esas letras tan precisas que van directo a nuestras almas. Es como si desde su propia experiencia contara la de todos, sus líricas siempre tienen algún verso que nos trasladan a un momento de nuestras vidas o reflejan lo que, sentimentalmente, nos está pasando en la actualidad; de ahí que sea reconocida y cuente con una legión de seguidores, entre los que me incluyo, no hay un día que no escuche alguna de sus canciones, sino un álbum completo, como ahora, que Folklore, su última producción, se ha dado a conocer.

 

Al principio me costó un poco adaptarme al estilo porque es un disco algo melancólico, del género folk e  indie, muy diferente a sus álbumes anteriores, no tiene que ver con su tiempo country o su incursión al pop, pero cuando le agarras la vuelta (como diríamos por aquí), no puedes dejar de escucharlo, esas melodías y letras se van conectando con tus sentidos y en tu mente están sonando todo el día, sin que puedas o quieras hacer algo al respecto.

Folklore demuestra el nivel de crecimiento de Taylor como liricista, con 16 canciones como Seven, My Tears Ricochet, August (mi personal favorita), Exile, The One, Illicit Affairs, Invisible Strings, This is me trying, Mirrorball, The Last Great American Dynasty, Betty, Peace, Epiphany, Hoax, Mad Woman y Cardigan, pero detengámonos un momento en esta última canción y sencillo promocional del disco.

Cardigan es una canción que por su letra y composición, desde mi subjetivo punto Swiftie (y a pesar de que mi favorita sea otra)  es la mejor del álbum, tiene versos preciosos y profundos, quiero decir, compararse con un suéter "viejo y olvidado bajo la cama de alguien", ¿es que se puede esperar más de una canción de amor/desamor? Además tiene la magia de ser la tercera parte de la trilogía del disco, con Betty y August, de la que todo el mundo habla,  incluidos los players, haters, heatbreakers y fakers.

 

Pues bien, para no perder la tradición iniciada con Lover, les dejo las mejores líneas de Folklore, de acuerdo a las canciones que más me gustan:

Si es que me sigues en Instagram sabrás que soy una Swiftie en potencia, que me siento orgullosa de ser seguidora de Taylor Swift desde que cantaba música country, que creo que es una de las más grandes compositoras de la historia, que es por demás creativa y que es simplemente genial.

Recientemente sacó su último álbum, Lover, que es simplemente fantástico, un disco muy romántico e inesperado, con letras de amor, como Cruel Summer, Daylight, Paper Rings y London Boy, y de desamor como Death by a Thousand Cuts, Afterglow y Cornelia Street. Quienes hemos seguido su carrera y su música sabemos que nos vamos a identificar con el contenido de sus canciones, bien estemos enamorados o en desamor. Escuchando su discografía nos hemos dado cuenta que como compositora a evolucionado desde los tiempos de White Horse, You belong With Me y Love Story con canciones como All Too Well, Out of the Woods, New Romantics, Delicate y Getaway car. Pero Lover ha sido un álbum revelación, adelanto que Me no fue una canción favorita mía sin embargo ahora lo es. Por esto, porque no puedo dejar de escuchar este álbum, comparto un conteo de mis líneas favoritas del repertorio, algunas de la líneas escogidas tienen que ver con mi estado emocional actual, otras con el de Tay, pero en general las coloco porque realmente las creo geniales.
